Onsemi (Nasdaq: ON) today announced the launch of its first real-time indirect Time-of-Flight (iToF) sensor series, Hyperlux™ ID. Designed for industrial applications, the series enables high-precision, long-distance measurement and 3D imaging of fast-moving objects, bringing revolutionary solutions to automation, robotics, logistics, agriculture, and more.

The Hyperlux ID series features Onsemi's proprietary global shutter pixel architecture with integrated storage, allowing full-scene capture and real-time depth measurement. This innovation overcomes the limitations of traditional iToF sensors, achieving depth perception up to 30 meters-four times the range of standard iToF sensors-while maintaining a compact form factor. Additionally, the series can simultaneously generate monochrome images and depth information, eliminating the need for separate sensors for visual and depth data, thus simplifying system design.

Its proprietary pixel architecture enables the sensor to capture and store four different light phases in a single exposure, instantly capturing the full scene and improving depth measurement accuracy. The global shutter technology synchronizes all sensor pixels with the VCSEL, significantly reducing ambient infrared noise from other light sources.
